Today’s breakfast is a wonder food. The only known cure for both hangovers and vegetarianism.

That’s right, all hail the bacon-buttie (bacon roll for non natives if this green and pleasant land).

Kinja'd!!!

Normally I like it with HP brown sauce, but today I’m just going to appreciate the honest flavour of the bacon.

Dear god no. Granted it can be nice with cheese, with a fried runny egg and ketchup can be awesome, but tomato, my good god sir no no and thrice no.

I do enjoy a sausage, bacon and egg stottie. Four pork sausages, 14 rashers of bacon and three runny eggs topped with ketchup. Amazing.

Al Murray (aka The Pub Landlord) is bloody hilarious (though he may say something that upsets the non natives such as what he said about French Canadians, “they think their French, their not, they just live somewhere shit and it’s a knee jerk response”).

Enjoy your sleep and more importantly, enjoy your bacon-buttie when you wake (remember to warm the bun, makes all the difference).

Never heard of this guy before, laughed like crazy. I could only get about 3/4 of it however as his english is somewhat poor. Perhaps a failure in the schooling system.

Sadly I realized the hard way that I had no bacon. Settled for maple sausage.

4 hours later, my house still smells like maple sausage *yum*

Tomato AND onion on a bacon buttie. That is just un-English sir.

You can keep your bacon, lettuce and tomato or bacon, onion and tomato while I retain the bacon, bacon and bacon recipe of goodness. :)

I prefer HP brown sauce or Heinz tomato ketchup. I’ve yet to find a decent BBQ sauce. I’ve tried about a dozen from shops own brands to Heinz, etc...

Ok so I enjoy most BBQ sauces, but I only have one that I LOVE. I have tried many a sauce myself and then one day my friend gave me a box of his family’s sauce and it is by far my favorite.

Kinja'd!!!

It is the Saucy Wench Barbecue Sauce

It is closer to A1 sauce than something thicker like Sweet Baby Ray’s, but has a nice little spicy kick (spicy version).

Kinja'd!!!

But seriously, this is a great sauce. I prefer the spicy one, but the other is really good too.

When it comes to sauces, there is just too much choice an vast variance within the types.

I’d like to find a good BBQ sauce as I love pulled pork a th wrong sauce can really destroy it.

It’s t best way. If your ever in my neck of the woods I know some great places in the heart of the Lake District to hidden places we don’t tell tourists about so in the height of summer we still have somewhere to go away from the hordes who choke up the county.

Cumbria is full of winding narrow roads with rest stops dotted about. It really is a beautiful county but the roads get snarled up with British an European coaches and cars parked all over the place because the rest stops and laybys are full. So what roads we have become narrower still.

Think of a narrow road that normally sees 100 cars a day usually, become half as wide but then see 2,000 cars a day in the summer.

We all have our secrets.

I’m guessing it’s Cambria, California an not Cambria, Wales. Lol.

Cumbria is on the west of northern England, on the east side is Northumbria, been there often but I’d like to go to Umbria, Italy.

Names, crazy.

Long Beach, Indiana
Long Beach, Maine
Long Beach, Maryland
Long Beach, Mississippi
Long Beach, Missouri
Long Beach, Minnesota
Long Beach, North Carolina
Long Beach, New Jersey
Long Beach, New York
Long Beach, Ohio
Long Beach, Washington

Names are great and following there history of how certain places came to be known from the place you were born. I was born and raised in Carlisle, Cumbria (formerly Cumberland), U.K. and always wanted to visit Carlisle, Cumberland County, PA which has a direct link to it being founded and named after my city.

There’s Carlisle Bay in Barbados I’d like to visit (not purely for the rum).

But it’s bound to have some history. It’s 2000 years old going back to at least AD73. Named Luguvalium from ‘Luguwaljon’, ‘city of luguwalos’. Later Cair Ligualid, then Caer-Luel, then Carliol, to Carlisle.

Carlisle Castle from 1093

Guildhall from 1407

But does it have enough land for a racetrack and facilities?

* update * Just looked it up (2.95 million), I think that

Rose Castle is one of the most significant houses in the north of England.

Grade I listed Castle with formal gardens and grounds, 2 cottages, farmhouse, modern and traditional farm buildings, farm cottage with in all 193.14 acres of land, woodland and fishing on the River Caldew. Available in three lots.

Rose Castle sits in an elevated position overlooking historic parkland within the beautiful Caldew Valley. It has a fascinating social and architectural history spanning almost 800 years

193.14 acres minus the land the house and formal gardens are on would suffice for a racetrack and garage of epic scale

Ye’, strange in that it’s listed with two estate agents and both for 2million and 2.95million. Odd.

Planning permission should be easy enough as there are a couple of factories a couple of miles away. Were also not far (26 miles) from M-Sport in Cockermouth that make rally cars.

Racing teams true. However virtually the whole of Cumbria looks like this.

There are only four large towns and one city in the whole of the county and the population of the whole county is 550,000.
